GL broke my heart as well as the heart of the show itself, if you ask me, when they let JvD's Ross go. I was a die hard fan of Clint and Viki when Clint Ritchie played the role of Clint Bunchanan. Same here, Sanda Lynn. That was the long-ago I meant. I don't have a problem accepting JvD's Clint though - I just think of him as the 'Corporate Clint' whereas I have always thought of Clint Ritchie's Clint as the 'Cowboy Clint.' That is my thought, exactly. She was the single parent who brought him up, they must have been very close through the thick and the thin, so, this might make it harder too. Part of it is because Rafe has never come across to me as someone who internalized every word of Natalia's religious teachings, ... Sigh ... I agree with that. Rafe is a very poorly developed character, as is Natalia. I can't make head or tail of why any of these people are behaving the way they are now based on how they used to behave before! It makes sense on one hand because Natalia and Olivia did grow very close and were the two female characters most "eligible" for this storyline, but...it is hard for me (and most of us, I am sure) to wrap my mind around Natalia acting on any feelings she may have for Olivia. In real life, I don't think a woman with such strict beliefs would come around to this as quickly as she has, if at all. That's why I feel so strongly about the need for Natalia to talk it out - with Olivia, with Father Ray, with Rafe, with anyone who will listen - because the people in her life need to make sense of the complete 180 she is doing, and more importantly, so to the viewers. The biggest problem with this storyline is not that a lesbian couple is a risky subject, it is that they made a lesbian out of one of the most improbable characters imaginable. After my whole rant here about how Rafe needs to give Natalia a chance to talk, though, of course I went and watched today's episode and he did just that. Well, he started to, at least. That is good enough for me for the time being. I am a Rafe convert at the moment.

Ray after he told Rafe to "man up and help" Natalia. Thank you! Even though he does not approve of Natalia's beliefs he is supporting her and I appreciated that. Too bad Rafe had to run out on the birthday like that. I really was surprised that Natalia didn't start crying over that. I would have! (But with me, it never takes much! LOL!) Elizabeth

So many people like her, act so religious as long as it suits their lifestyle. Then if things change, they have no qualms about changing their beliefs and expect others to go along with them. How many times have we seen these famous preachers get involved with young women or men for that matter? I am always highly suspect of anyone that preaches religion to me. I have seen it in my own church, with the scandals with young boys. I now look at priests in a much different light than I grew up with. Natalia has always been very hypocritical. She professed to be so religious, yet had no qualms about sleeping with a man out of wedlock, several times. Then she went on to break up a marriage. If she was so inclined to do these things, fine, just don't bring religion in to it. She is only fooling herself and her family. Loretta

All she had to do was ask St. Paul: "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God" (Galatians 5:19-20). "Know you not that the unjust shall not possess the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor the effeminate, nor liers with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards nor railers, nor extortioners shall possess the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). So far as I remember from all that I listened to in school, adultery is a mortal sin ... so, how come that did not bother Natalia so much as the possibility of being a "lier" with womankind though this does not seem to explicitly prohibited as being a "lier with makind?" Anyhow, I think that poor writing and poor planning of a character and very poor execution of a plot that seemed to have been thought up in desperation to draw new audience to a show after not having listened to the fans of the show for years and years, with the result of bringing the show down very badly, is a crime, if not a sin. Oh, and I do not hold St. Paul to be the most tolerant and the most forgiving of Saints, and I am no fan of his, definitely. I am just citing him since he is purported to have spoken on the subject, that is all. Malar

Well, anyone in Christ is a saint (not a sinner - yet not withOUT sin) but trust me, I'm not trying to argue semantics.:-) The reason I personally love the apostle Paul is because that he is a classic example of a life that was in total destruction AND destrucTIVE when he was still named Saul. I mean, if God can save such take an evil person such as Saul, give him a 180 turn around - change his name to symbolize the change - and then to have him become such an amazing deciple of Christ? The bottom line with religion is (no offense to anyone) that if that is what one is looking for then there are plenty to choose from. It's easy for anyone to make religion their top priority instead of God. However, without a strong relationship and bond with Christ then one is simply going through the motions. ....and if that's the case then why really bother to begin with. We ALL screw up and fall short. That doesn't necessarily make us bad people it does thought make us HUMAN.:-) If a Christian screws up - it doesn't make them lose the blood of Christ that covers them - it DOES make them a bad Christian and witness but one must also repent, ask and accept forgivness and hopefully learn from our mistakes.
