As Guiding Light prepares for its final show in September, CBS is already making plans for what it will do with its timeslot.
To replace the longest-running drama on television, the network is taking a trip down memory lane.
CBS is mulling over remaking two classic game shows, Let's Make a Deal and The Dating Game, according to The Hollywood Reporter. There were talks of a revamp of Pyramid, but not it looks as though Dating might be the network's preferred choice.
The original Deal, hosted by Monty Hall, debuted in 1963 and ran from for 10 years on ABC, followed by various syndicated versions and remakes over the years. The original Dating Game aired from 1965 to 1980, also on ABC, followed by several syndicated versions.
What do you think should replace Guiding Light (and unfortunately, no, keeping GL isn't an option)? denette@tvguide.ca
