I don't truly understand where the venom towards Dinah is coming fromYou don't?
It made perfect sense to me. Remember Dinah's history, her trying to shoot Reva's sister Cassie and instead shooting Cassie's (first) "Love of My Life." Remember all the bad things that Dinah did to Cassie, including her role in the Foetus Caper at the end?
Reva as well as the audience will always have to look at Dinah as a very unstable personality, as much as we may admire and like the actress who portrays Dinah currently!
For all that, I agree with you completely on this:
She could make her a partner and make a lot more progress that way. That, essentially, is what happened later on, when Reva and Dinah ran into each other accidentally. I don't remember what day it was, but it was an outdoor scene, they ran into each other next to Dinah's parked car and had an open and free conversation, where each admitted to the other of being a pain in the rear, being difficult to get along with, etc., but arrived at a truce of sorts.
I hope that the writers and the execs don't forget that scene while writing for Reva and Dinah in the future!
I am not a fan of either character, but both of them can be very endearing at times. That scene between the two women endeared them both to me.
