For those here for the first time, 
! We are so happy to have you here with us! We love to have a lot of people to post with, it makes things
interesting!
I have not had any rules on this board until 2005 (we started in April of 2001) but I noticed that sometimes when folks stop by and don't know the culture here, that there are sometimes problems, so I thought I'd whip up a few rules just to help with that.
Basically, this board has a lot of people with very different opinions, but we all respect and love each other a lot and don't blast each other for their opinions!
Now for the rulz:
1. Plese don't flame other posters.
2. Plese don't flame the actors (it might hurt their feelings!)
3. Don't respond to "trolls." A troll is someone who posts something mean directed to another poster on the board or some unresonable post about a character that is only meant to incite a riot on the board.
If someone posts a completely mean-spirited e-mail, don't respond to them, contact a moderator or me and we will delete the post and if it is indeed determined that the person is a troll, we will ban them from the board.
4. Every character has fans. (And it could be me!) Please do not completely trash a character out of respect for those fans.
Also, if you dislike a character and have elaborately posted all the reasons for it over over and over, please think about the fans of that character who are reading these posts every day. It is hard and tiresome to see your faves blasted on a regular basis. After you initially get your point across, why not say something like "everyone knows I dislike so-and-so."
In addition, it is always better to day "I dislike so-and-so" than "I absolutely loathe and detest hate and wish so-and-so would die a terrible ugly painful death that they deserve because they are so worthless." I think something like that is OK and maybe even funny for a few times, but if you feel like all of your posts are starting to turn into angry rants...it just is so negative....and makes people feel uncomfortable.
The bottom line is that this is a general GL board for all GL fans and I want the fans of all of the characters to feel comfortable and welcome to post here.
5. DON'T POST IN ALL CAPS. IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE YELLING. (The exception is mommar699, who has vision problems and has to post in all caps.)
6. Avoid excessive punctuation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It also feels like you are yelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. If you want to quit watching, then quit. Please don't come here and try to incite a riot by explaining why you're "turning off the light." (I hate these posts, personally!) Also, talking about how you are on the verge of stopping watching is no fun to read either. Let's discuss the show and have fun.
8. It is totally OK to voice your opinion, but if what you're posting is bullying other posters into being afraid to post their opinion, then I will probably delete it or edit it. As I said, I want the fans of all of the characters to feel comfortable and welcome to post here.
9. If I edit your post, please accept my apologies, but I may edit a post to comply with these...
10. Remember to post a greeting on the birthday posts! It is so nice when it is your birthday to have folks remember!
