Brooke has a confrontation and hatches a plan. Taylor and Rick have a near miss!
In Taylor's bedroom, Rick strokes her face and implores her not to deny it anymore - they're in love and it's time that they show each other! Rick contends that fate called Phoebe away to a last minute photo shoot and left them to be together like this. At the mention of her daughter's name, Taylor separates herself from Rick and reiterates that knowing Phoebe has feelings for him means she just cannot allow herself to go through with this! Rick protests that he is not in love with Phoebe - he's in love with her!
At Forrester, Brooke asks Ridge if he is reconsidering their engagement. He replies that he loves her, but they're in a difficult predicament considering her divided interests. She angrily asks if he is saying he'd rather be back with Ashley. He denies wanting any such thing and reiterates that the issue is her attachment to Jack. She informs him that she will always have a connection with Jack - but that doesn't change the way she feels about him and their family! She declares that she still feels that he is her destiny. They kiss passionately.
Later, still at Forrester Creations, Ridge discusses business with Thorne. Phoebe comes in and is upset. She explains that she was called in for a last minute photo shoot, but arrived and nothing was set up. Ridge apologizes and asks her to stay and help test some fragrances. She starts to text Rick, and Ridge says if 'the guy' is worth it, he'll still be there when she gets back. After Phoebe leaves, Thorne remarks on what an asset Ashley is to the company and Ridge agrees she's quite a woman!
Meanwhile, in the lab, Brooke confronts Ashley about telling Ridge that she is 'sick' and that he should cut his losses. Ashley admits to saying those things, but denies still being in love with Ridge. Brooke throws it in her face that Ridge left Ashley to be with her! Ashley sneers that Brooke seems to be asking her to respect her engagement the way she respected hers! Brooke tells Ashley she likes the way she speaks her mind, and she wants the best for Ashley and her daughter, but that is not Ridge. "I can promise you that!"
Still in her bedroom, Taylor and Rick continue to argue as she tries to explain that her loyalty to her daughter trumps any feelings she has for him! Suddenly, they hear Phoebe's voice in the house. "Mom?" As their eyes widen in panic, Taylor tells Rick to "go", and rushes out into the hallway to greet her daughter. Phoebe asks if she is interrupting something - she swears she heard her talking to someone! Taylor claims she was checking her voice mail and that is probably what she heard. She asks how the photo shoot went. Phoebe wonders how she knew she had a photo shoot, but then starts telling her mother what a wonderful evening she was having with Rick. She spills all her feelings about him to Taylor, as Rick listens from behind a door. Taylor tells Phoebe she's happy for her, but doesn't want to see her get hurt. When Phoebe leaves the room, Rick walks out and Taylor says, "Now do you see why nothing can go on between us?!" She sighs and says she knows what he has been going through, but he needs to know that this isn't going to happen. She assures him that he will always be in her heart, but it's over. He kisses her and says, "Like hell it is." Taylor can no longer control herself and gives in to her passionate feelings as they tumble into bed!
Brooke turns up back in Ridge's office and he tells her that they got the patent for the BeLief formula. She remembers when they came up with the formula together and celebrated by making love. She asks if he thinks she still looks as good in her lingerie. They begin to kiss and sink down to the floor. A buzzer goes off repeatedly, cutting them short. Ridge picks up the phone and is reminded that he needs to get to a meeting with Ashley. Brooke tries to convince him to blow off the meeting, but he runs off and leaves her in the office in nothing but her red slip. Storm comes in and Brooke snipes to her brother that Ashley is trying to steal Ridge away. She says she has to stop her and tells Storm she will need his help!
