Where I live, this is what is going on, Phillip:
High: 97°F RealFeel®: 100°F Sunshine
What is strange is that we have had a gloomily cold spring/summer so far. With highs barely reaching the low 70s and 80s. Anyway, I am out in the yard, digging the earth to plant a couple of trees. One is a fast-grower, the other is a slow-grower, but I bet they will be happy to be out of the black-coloured pots and fgo into the ground.

We are having a beautiful day, around 72. It is supposed to be in the high 70's all week. We have had very little rain for over a month, so when the fire
season starts, it will be bad.

I didn't realize that you had a 'fire season' in and around Seattle, Loretta! When is yours?
Of course, here, it ought to be between July and October, but these days, with the running drought, SoCal is always in danger.

Phillip,
Saturday was horrible! We had VBS and of course it was on the hottest day of the year so far. On the plus side, today is much, much better. Bye, bye humidity for a few days. Yay!

We were at a baseball tournament in the southeast part of Ohio all weekend - it was pretty nasty on Saturday - around 90 degrees. Humidity was less on Sunday
and it was partly overcast and slightly breezy, which was much improved. I'm back home (south/central) Ohio and it supposed to be a high of 82 degrees
today. Humidity seems pretty decent, so it looks to be a great day!

It's just ridiculously hot here. I know I/we say that every year, but I forget how hot it really is until it slaps me in the face. LOL It's been about
97-98, but feels like 104. Hot!!

Last week was our hottest, so far. We hit somewhere between 88* and 90*. Which is pretty hot for around here. What made it worse was
that our a/c bit the dust. It took two days for maintenence to try to fix it, then replace it. By the time they cranked up the new unit, our house was 88*.
Not fun at all.

I'm sorry you had A/C trouble Bayley. That stinks, but I'm glad they replaced it and you are comfortable again.

We don't really have a fire season around Seattle, it is mostly on the other side of the Cascade Mountains, but this year with it being so dry, we are
already seeing fires along the freeway. It won't take much to start a big fire.

Sheesh. I am sorry to hear that. Living in the land of very destructive fires, I like to imagine at least some places in the world as having no 'fire
season' for my own mental comfort. I guess Seattle was one of those safe havens for me.
Good luck.

I was going to offer my condolences to Elizabeth,If she isn't a puddle after yesterday. Austin had 105.
We are supposed to be 87 here today, but who knows? Sometimes the weatherman says one temp and we get another. We are always under a fire ban out here.It doesn't rain very much or very often. |

It was 87 or so here yesterday but it felt like 65 compared to last week's humidity and upper 90's. Last week even at 8 pm it was too hot to do
anything outside without dripping with sweat. I hate days like that.

Thanks, Shelly! I survived the heat by sucking down sugar-free popcicles all day!

It was 107 here on Saturday. Today's high is supposed to be a chilly 95.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Wow, we have spiked in temperature and it is to be in the high 80's all week! Around here, when we have nice weather for a couple of weeks, people start
saying how bad we need rain!

It's rainy here and this week we won't make it out of the 70's. I have never seen such a rainy June it rains 25 days the month of June all the
plants in my landscaping are dying from being so wet. The kids are stuck inside for long periods b/c the downpours just happen at random.
We have have played dance shows, theme weeks this week is Halloween where we watched all Halloween shows and the kids wore old costumes, maybe Christmas in July next week. We have had pretend picnics, played "school" with their workbooks for over the summer...learning made fun lol. With the economy right now going out often isn't really a big option. They want to get in the pool and it isn't possible with the thunder and lightening every day. However I appreciate the rain, thank God for it and pray for all of you who need it to finally get some!! ((hugs)) !! Tania in Pennsylvania

Thank you, Tania. Here in parched SoCal, it would be lovely to get a July full of rain so we don't have burning hills and dales in
August/September/October.
OTOH, it will probably very seriously mess up the crops on which many of us survive - oh well.
