I just talked to the P%G hotline. I sent Elizabeth a pm with the info. As soon as we talk, I will post the conversation. All I will say right now is they are
still looking for a new network.
And if anyone finds the "G" to my keyboard send it home! Its
hard to type GL with no G

I didn't mean anything bad about my Green Bay Packer comment, please don't take it that way. I wish it would work, I'd do just about anything,
legally and within reason, to help save GL. I live in Wisconsin and think that it is great that the Packers don't have just one money hungry owner. I used
to live in Kenosha and there were a lot of referendums around the time I was looking to buy a house there and one of them was a big debate on helping pay for
the additions to Lambeau Field. I just remember the heated debates that were going on that the city of Green Bay should not have to "fund" the
Packers entirely. I actually agree with the statement. I would love to be a season ticket holder and pay the Packers, but getting on the season ticket list
takes about 112 years and it is a shame that there are a lot of people making a ton of money by selling the tickets. So, I still "fund" the people
selling their tickets back to the ticket agencies who make a ton of profit just to be able to see one game each year. So, I do apologize for the statement, I
just wish that the fans really could fund the Packers and not ebay, ticketmaster, stubhub, or the like

danny watcher - I think its a great idea! I'm not in the least negative and I dont think others are either. I just need a way to do research to write a
proposal. I'd pay 25.00 per stock cert per year to help keep the show on the air and I think alot of fans would too. The thing is it would have to be like
Green Bay- no voting, no ability to have a controllin interest and ownership of the show needs to stay with P&G.

Dannywatcher I am glad you know so much about it all!!!
That's
pretty cool!!
I'm on board with all the ideas and I think soapfan is really nailing it on the head...great post...I too would contribute in a heartbeat to keep GL going. I have been watching my DVDs this weekend. I'm actually watching Reva's PPD sl right now... you should see Frank ... and I cannot believe it might be all over. I do hope it can still be saved!!

Oooooohhhh Dannywatcher, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was upset or anything, seriously, darn written words......you said nothing wrong.
Anywhooo....I also lived in Kenosha at one time, then Burlington and Waterford, small world, lol. Now I don't remember the Packers having issues with taxes around Racine or Kenosha county, but that's not to say it didn't happen either before I was old enough to remember or after I moved, kwim? I do remember being taxed as a Racine county resident when the Brewers and their owners threatened to leave Milwaukee if they did not get their new stadium, the now known Miller Park. That did pass and cost one Sen. George Petak his seat because his constituients recalled him, lol. I could't vote in that vote because he wasn't the senator for my area, but I would have ousted him with my vote if I could have. That was a five county tax area and they actually said Racine county benifitted by out of towners staying in the hotels from Milwaukee, which was total bunk, lol. I was until that time a die-hard Brewers fan and after being held for ransom on their new stadium, I never set foot back in it. I am a Cubbies fan now, lol. I <3 them! I have two shares of Packer stock, and yeah, there was talk/discussion about the remodeling of Lambeau. The stock was offered to fund that renovation. I can't remember how I went about buying it but I think it was around $400 a share, pretty pricey memorabelia. I am going to chew on this for a bit and try to remember more, my memory is bad for some reason, I think it was baby brain around that time, lol, I couldn't remember *#+% for awhile after I had each of my kids, lol, hence "baby brain". DH is out of town so I'll ask him when he calls tomorrow. I do know that the Packers cannot be sold, they belong to I believe Green Bay and the fans and there is not ONE owner, just one stupid GM, but that's another discussion, lol. I don't know what the franchise actually "costs" the residents of Green Bay, but I do know that the business' make some serious monies during football season. Actually you can go there anytime of the year and Lambeau has people walking around it, taking pictures, eating in Curly's pub, shopping in the pro shop, etc., there is ALWAYS people there. For the Packer fan and even some non-Packer fans, it is a pretty revered place. |
