Recap for the rest of this week - Shayne tells his parents not to worry about him. He asks Jeffrey for help getting back to Afghanistan. Jeffrey pleads with him to stay in town for Reva's sake and reveals her cancer is back. Reva and Shayne later bond over life's curveballs. Reva and Jeffrey meet with a doula who promises to help soothe their fears about Reva's situation. Jeffrey tells Reva about enjoying life as a family man now. Also, Ava surprises Jeffrey. -GA's first airdate is February 6. SPW (12/30/08): In Michelle Ray Smith's "A Closer Look" Q&A about Ava, she mentions that Ava tells Jeffrey how happy she is for he and Reva. She says to her father that she knows he is nervous about having the baby, but once he holds the baby in his arms, he will forget everything else and nothing else will matter. 2009 PREVIEW: Reva/Jeffrey - Head Writer Jill Lorie Hurst previews, "Reva is hell-bent on birthing a healthy baby, no matter what. She and Jeffrey don't always agree, but he does his best to protect Reva every step of the way. We get to play some of the fun, "normal" baby stuff, too. There's child birthing classes and a big baby shower." Also: -'Dinah and Shayne's Bombshell' preview article SID (1/05/09): 'Reva and Shayne Reconnect' preview article - Josh tells Reva that Shayne's organization wants him to ship out again. Shayne says Jeffrey helped him get shipped out. Jeffrey tells Josh he didn't help Shayne get shipped out even when Shayne asked him to. Meanwhile, Reva apologizes to Shayne for missing his childhood. Shayne discovers he can't leave the country, due to strings Jeffrey pulled because Reva needs Shayne with her. On Christmas, Shayne tells his family he is going to stay in Springfield. Later Shayne and Dinah cause trouble. 2009 PREVIEW: There's a HUGE Kim/Bradley photo with GL's 2009 previews. Reva/Jeffrey - Shayne wants nothing to do with his family so Reva and Josh try to earn his trust and keep him out of trouble. Reva has to balance that with continuously monitoring her health and her baby's. Head Writer Jill Lorie Hurst says, "While there may be some close calls and tense moments leading up to the birth, Jeffrey and Reva will absolutely find themselves the parents of a beautiful, healthy baby!" Also: -Beth Chamberlin speaks out about the Beth/Coop backlash. -Jessica Leccia and her husband are expecting their first child in June.

Uncharted Territory : Jessica Leccia envisions a brighter road ahead for Natalia -Certainly part of the change in Natalia's life is her ever-expanding bond with former foe Olivia. Describing the pair as Springfield's version of Thelma & Louise may be a stretch, yet Leccia says they have a lot in common. "At one point, we were two very desperate women chasing the same dream," she acknowledges. The trauma of Gus' death and Olivia receiving his heart linked the ladies together in ways they never imagined. "I think it's safe to call us friends now," Leccia chuckles. "We yell at each other, scold, each other, and then we make up. I like our dynamic." For Leccia, playing Natalia's relationship with Olivia is providing her with the opportunity to show her character's feisty, pull-no-punches side.
