OT--Ike heading for Texas |
Lead | |
|
I know Ike is heading for Texas and just heard they are many evacuees in DFW as well as other places, I know Elizabeth is in Texas, and Julie I saw on another
post must be in DFW. ( I am not familiar with where everyone is yet, but I know there must be others ) I wish the best for all of you who may be in Ike's
path and my prayers are with you. Stay safe and let us know how you are when you can

Elizabeth, looks like Dallas will be shelteing evacuees, so JD should be fine! But from the looks of the path that Shelly posted, much of Texas will
see some storm. Hopefully it will weaken. I live in the mid Atlantic, near Baltimore, and Hanna passed over us, but hardly was anything that they had
anticipated when it got to us.
Hope you have no trouble with your flight to Orlando!! Again, my thought are with anyone who may be affected by Ike!! |

Mine, as well! I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers that you all stay safe and suffer no damages or side effects from Ike! I hope everyone will
update us when they can to let us know they are safe.

We got 2 inches out of Gustav. Before that we had 7 tenths in 5 weeks.
It looks like this one is going right over top of us. Hopefully we won't have flooding.

We got 4.5 in or so in a day from Hanna (we are in MD) but thankfully no real winds--and there was some flooding and power outages around, but not too major.
It looks like Ike is making a turn, so for those in its path stay safe and dry!! Hope you get good rain for your lawns and not much else!! Folks around here are watching the storm because the Baltimore Ravens play the Houston Texans in Houston this weekend so weve been hearing a lot about the weather there. Best wishes for a good vacation Elizabeth--I will send good thoughts that you will get off on time and safely so you can enjoy your Disney time!! |

I just got back from Texas yesterday. We had gone to Dallas for a wedding, then drove up to Carlsbad Caverns for a couple of days. We ran in to a terrible
rainstorm on our way back Monday. It was rainy Tuesday also, so we did not get to do much sight seeing. Glad we are out of there now. It is a beautiful day
in Seattle!

I'm just hearing on the news tonight that they are telling anyone (mainly Galveston and Houston, I think?) that stays behind that it could be a life/death
decision. Sounds like it's going to be a monster storm. I pray everyone stays safe.
E- I hope your flight gets out okay on Sunday - what time are you flying out of Texas? Hopefully, you will have great weather for Monday and Tuesday in Orlando! Have a great time! Jamie |

Serious Storm | ||
|
I watched the news too and they really emphasized that this is a Serious Storm.
They showed cars and trucks all backed up on Interstate 45, close to like a million people all along the Texas coast were ordered to evacuate

Hi, My bro and sis came to Dallas Thursday; The devastation is widespread. I've been watching the coverage for most of the morning. The Morgan Chase
building's in Downtown was very badly damaged. This is a more than 50 story building and the majority of the windows were blown out, Even computers and
some furniture was strewn out. Their is a boil water order and electricity is out for most of the region. The storm is still in Texas and its windy and
raining here in Dallas.
