Elizabeth, this is just a trial which you have to pay for to continue using? Did I read something wrong? Why did you delete the link to, oh shoot, what was
it called, Housescan or something like that.

Thanks Margaret. I have/had used AVG for years then suddenly I had an issue a couple weeks ago. I also was running Spy Sweeper (not free) and Spybot Search
and Destroy. I really think that my problem was with Spy Sweeper but it corrupted all the other anti virus, anti spyware, etc stuff that I had on my computer.
I had no choice but to remove it all. My computer became unusable and after fighting it for almost 4 days I had had enough. I have a firewall but . . . my
husband kept promising to install Norton which I am not fond of but he could add it to my machine for free and I thought that it might work a bit more
seamlessly with the Norton Firewall. I looked at the Windows thing and saw that it was a trial version and you were going to have to pay for it after a couple
uses, so took a pass. Thanks again for your response. I'll keep struggling and be careful where I go and what I open until I get something else
installed.

I use Spybot Search and Destroy with Ad Aware. They always try to tell you that they "conflict" with each other because they don't like you to
use other company's products.
I think that I took down the links because they were no longer good. They were so old and I went to install something on my home computer and went to those links and they were no longer valid. Do you want me to ask around for recommendations? I have some IT friends I can ask.

Thanks Elizabeth but I got the new link for Housecall and ran it. I bookmarked it on my computer for future reference. I had used Adaware; Spybot Search and
Destroy; and SpySweeper for years with no problems. The problems seemed to develop after my husband installed a Norton Firewall on my computer. I had no
choice but to remove all three of those applications from my system. It seems to run fine now so I am just using some of the free sites that are recommended
by a computer support group here on Yahoo that I have been a member of for several years.
