Guiding Light, Global/CBS - Rafe shoots Jeffrey; Criminal Kane returns
- EJ Bonilla (Rafe) is outta Springfield this week after Rafe shoots Jeffrey, reports Soap Opera Weekly. The 411 is that GL plans to recast
the lukewarm role with a different actor. Look for Harley to spirit her former stepson away from Springfield, and never come back. Speaking of Harley, at press
time, GL still hadn't decided whether or not to recast Beth Ehlers, who last airs on the embattled soap on June 23. Snitches tell me Har1ey will
not return to town when she escapes with Gus' brat.

Princess, Rafe didnt bother me actually I really never noticed. If you ask me GL could learn a lession from AMC, instead of bringing people with no history to
the show utilize the history of GL bring back some core characters, it can work! AMC has done a great job of bringing back its core characters with long term
history with the show.

I won't be sorry to see him go. I don't know if it was the character or his acting, but I never have liked him at all. I didn't quite get why
Harley was helping him leave. Ashlee shot Alan and only did a short time in juvie. Course Rafe is older now, but still it was an accident. Now Harley is in
trouble too.

I don't get how it's an accident. He got a gun and thought about it, premeditation, then went down to the courthouse and threatened Jeffrey and when
Jeffrey walked towards him he shot him. He's always been violent and ready to strike since day one. I can understand his mom taking his side and all but
she keeps saying how he is such a good boy same thing she said when he was in juvee. oh be nice to him he's such a good boy but be careful he doesn't
hit or shoot you. Anyway it looked pretty intentional to me.

They do have a bad habit of bouncing in at inopportune times.If Mallet hadn't jumped in the door,maybe he wouldn't have shot him?

They plan to recast Rafe who actually shot someone and should be held accountable who will then return and probably get off free and clear (like his
grandfather when he had a part in Tammy's death) but Harley never comes back?? What about her kids? What happens to Daisy now?

It is lame that Harley would leave with Rafe, IMO.
Why would they recast Rafe? Just let him be gone. He adds nothing to the show anyway. If they recast Rafe; it would make no sense for Harley to stay gone. Why would Harley stay away from her kids if Rafe returns? It makes no sense at all.

FRIDAY, MAY 30, 2008 -- SUMMARY OF THE WEEK'S EVENTS GL -- RAFE SHOOTS JEFFREY -- Olivia hands some important papers over to Natalia. Harley makes a shocking discovery. Alan has more strange visions. Rafe discovers some of Gus's belongings. Buzz reveals a secret. Harley realizes her mistake. Lizzie goes to extremes for revenge. Reva leans on her loved ones. Dinah and Bill have a new reason to celebrate. E.J. BONILLA will be exiting the role of Rafe when Rafe and Harley leave town. There are plans for BONILLA to make a brief return toward the end of June. Currently, sources are saying that there are NO plans to recast the role of Harley. IF E.J. DOES return at some point, the role will be taken over by a different actor. soap source

I didn't mind Rafe that much - sometimes he bugged me but they all do from time to time. He's just a kid and I actually think it's not so bad when
you consider he was raised by his Mom only and no Dad/father figure around. He had a chip on his shoulder with Gus for a long time but then he's just a kid
and then he was mad at Daisy for aborting his baby without even talking to him about it and I feel he had every right to be mad at her. He's been mad about
other things, too, but they all have bad things happen and get mad - his fake ID business with Daisy was illegal - but wasn't it Daisy's idea? Daisy -
another kid. That's how kids are. So he didn't bother me all that much. I missed the whole shooting thing so I can't respond to that stuff.....but
I hate that he and Harley are leaving town. I was wondering if yesterday was Harley's last day - it was very very sad to watch.

He bothered me at first but the kid had grown on me! He used to talk to fast I could not understand what he was saying. But I felt he had gotten a lot better.
I am not all broken up about him leaving...I wish the actor well!
I agree that it is much better to bring back the vets than get new characters with no association with the show. Bring back Alex! Expand Frank's role! has any one seen any interviews with the real Frank? This guy has 2X the personality of the character Frank. They should let him put some of that into the character! Elizabeth |

E, I think they used to a year or two ago when he was kidding around alot with Rick at the Bauer picnic and such. Then they made him bland.
