Has anyone else had a problem with them? I was so mad today. Yesterday, there was a notice on my door that they made a 1st delivery attempt and would be back
on Friday between 10 and 2. I could sign the slip and have them leave it at the door, but since it was a rather expensive item, decided to wait since I live
in a condo. I saw a UPS truck drive past my building this morning. Around 1:30, I see a truck stop in front of my building. I wait and wait for a knock on
the door. I never even heard anyone walk up the steps. The next thing I know is the truck is pulling away. There's no notice on my door about a 2nd
delivery attempt having been made, so I thought it wasn't the right truck. Around 2:30 I check online and see a message that a 2nd delivery attempt had
been made but no one was home. Boy, was I mad! I called the 800 number and she put in a call to the driver to come back. That lazy guy didn't even walk
up the steps and try to deliver it today. I walked down a couple flights of steps and saw notices on another person's door. So I think that was was far
as he walked. He probably thought that no one was home so the truth would never be discovered.
Now, that I got that out, I feel a little better.

I feel your pain. Customer service seems to be a thing of the past.
I just got back from KMart where I waited in line 30 minutes. If I didn't have really good buys in my basket, I would have walked out. And then there was a sweatshirt the had a tag on it that said $.99. It rang up $3. The cashier said it was $3 even though the tag said $.99. I told her to keep it. If the line had been 10 people long behind me, I would have asked to speak to a manager. I will be sending a rant to them online on Monday. Ugh!

It's so frustrating when you don't want to miss a good buy, but have to wait forever. I always thought that the cashier has to go by the tag. It's
5:45, still no package.

I've had the same problem with UPS. And, with FedEx. I was waiting for a package from H-P that was supposed to be one-day shipping.
I was sitting in my living room with the windows open and never even heard a truck approach, let alone someone ringing my bell. I finally tracked it online
and the driver claimed he had tried to make the delivery and no one was home. I called FedEx and raised hell with them. The woman on the other end
apologized, but said there was no way to send the driver back. (Not quite sure why). She said they would come the next day. So, the next day.I left a note
in huge letters stating that I was at home and I wanted my package that day and someone had better ring my doorbell. The guy who came said that a newbie had
been out the day before. Uh-huh.
As for the K Mart thing, I would have demanded to see a manager no matter how many people were behind me. There's no excuse for not selling the item to you at the tag price unless they could prove that someone had tampered with the tag. |

Well, I guess I have to hang the signed UPS slip on the door and tell them to leave the package, even though I won't be home! I hate having to do that. I
want to find the phone number for the local UPS and complain to the manager.

I hate them. When I was going through the fertility thing, I had drugs delivered to me that were $1200 and had to be refrigerated. They left them on the porch
without even knocking! If someone had taken them, it would have been a DISASTER.

Boy I am lucky, at least with UPS if not FedX. I live in the sticks. My UPS guy is named Craig, lol. He's awesome! He brings stuff into the garage. We all
know him, his name, his marital status, his kids names and he knows us. I know it's not all like that, for sure, I just went with it with my step-daughter
and a gift I had sent. I did not request a signature, but the company I ordered it from did. Okay, well if you'd have TOLD me that when I ordered it I
would have had it sent to her place of employment, not her home that is empty every day, and she can't get to the UPS office during their
"hours"! Now I have to have it sent back, redirected, blah, blah, blah, all because the driver can't change anything, blah, blah. blah, and the
company wants to charge me ooodles of money to make the change, blah, blah, blah, which like I said I would have known better if they'd told me in the
first place, blah, blah, blah, lol.
Sorry bout you're mess, I have been there and it does suck. |

I also live in the sticks and we used to have a UPS guy named Frank. He was great. He would leave our packages out of sight, but where we would find them.
Now they leave packages outside my basement door which is okay if it is not supposed to rain. Packages left there are out of sight unless someone pulls into my driveway. I prefer things to be sent by regular mail. They will deliver my packages to my dad's house. Most of the time if I get a package at the house, my dad or my ex SIL will get the package and take it inside for me. Sometimes it comes in handy to have relatives across the street. LOL I will be emailing my displeasure to Kmart today.

With hubby working for HP now and officing at home (though he is traveling most of the time), they regularly send him stuff FedEx and I get lots of deliveries
from UPS. I have made an effort to get to know them and they have been great. I feel for you living in a condo because you are at their mercy unless the office
is willing to accept boxes and most don't even do that for you. The FedEx guy is especially nice as he always knocks at least twice.
On the other hand, we are on a rural route because we are so far out from the city center. Our mailing address city is different from our physical address. Three thousand homes in this huge neighborhood and we have two mailmen. Ours happens to be the awful one. He bends photos and cards to fit. He never attempts delivery and always puts the note in the mailbox. I was sitting on the front porch waiting for him to get my husband's new tags for his car which had expired and the turd blossom put the note in the mailbox. I called the postmaster and the guy had to come back. He also delivers mail with the same house number but wrong street. We got a porn magazine with the wrapper ripped and it wasn't Playboy or Penthouse for the guy two streets over. My husband's payroll stub has been delivered to a house one street over twice. I've gotten the voter registration card for the house two houses down and their payment book for their new truck. ![]() ![]() |

As a postal worker, I can explain some of the misplaced mail. Most mail is sorted by high-speed machines. It tuns throguh several in
each postal facility that it goes to. Once of the first machines reads the address, then sprays a bar code on it. It goes to the next where it sorted by zip,
then to another where it's sorted into "walk sequence" for the carrier. They sort very little by hand. If it gets sent to the wrong place,
it's often because the barcode reader read something improperly.
Every so often, I get a piece of my mail that has been delivered to the wrong address. It's always the same wrong address, and the recipient writes something on it before dropping it in a mailbox. So, I get mail (sometimes magazines) with a snotty note written on it. It's kind of annoying. I really like my carrier - he's pretty good, for the most part. But, we have a very small mailbox, and he refuses to rubberband our mail so it fits better. I've had carriers who will jam a package with a book in the tiny mailbox, and I have to open the package while it's still in the mailbox and pry the book out. Since we live in a rented townhouse, we have no say over the size of the mailbox, so we live with it. As for your carrier not even trying to get it right, there's no excuse for it and I would file a complaint. |

Our regular mailman is really good, but the substitutes are horrible. I know things are sorted by machine, but the substitutes always put mail for
"Jones" into my mailbox "Johns". I don't know what the explanation is for that since the apt. numbers are different. That neighbor just
moved, so I hope that eliminates the confusion. Whoever delivered the mail yesterday jammed two cards and a thin newspaper flyer into the mailbox bending the
cards. Those problems don't even come close to the other mail problems on this thread!

Our USPS carrier is pretty good. I rarely get anyone else's mail and my packages are delivered to my dad's house, so as long as he is home I get them.
There have been a couple of times when there was a sub and they put my mail in my brother's box and vice versa. Our mailboxes are right next to each other,
so that is somewhat understandable.

Oh, I hate it when there's a substiture! They do everything so haphazardly! We really like our regular carrier and he loves to come
to the house and see our cats. We all miss him when he's on vacation!

I just had to reply to this topic. We also live in the stix and our FedEx and UPS drivers are great. But my sis lives in a small town in AZ and for the last
year, everything I've sent her has been totally trashed. The last package I had packed by the UPS office and it was in a box, inside another box and I
can't imagine how they broke it, but they did. Because it was something had belonged to my mother years ago that I was passing on to a younger sister,
there was no way to determine it's actual worth and they refused to pay for it. Not only was I sick that it was broken, but they wouldn't compensate
us either.
BTW, my son lives in a condo in Thornton, CO, (suburb of Denver)...he says one time they'll leave stuff under a bush by his door, the next time, he has to go track them down because they claimed they'd attempted delivery and didn't bother to come past the front gate of the complex. He hates UPS... |

In my neighborhood, they ring the doorbell drop the package on my front steps and are in the truck and around the corner before I even get to the door. They don't make you sign for anything anymore. They just stop, drop and step on the gas! rose |

I used to prefer having packages delivered by UPS over the post office, but now, I'm not so sure. Neither is reliable. UPS used to just dropped it off at
the door, which is okay with me. I'm still wondering where my June Southern Living is. I'm sure that we've had a substitute mailman and it's
hard to say whose mailbox it was put into.
