dear friends of daziedaze, please understand if daiziedaze is not herself the next few days, we lost her little dog buffy this afternoon, she was hit as they were leaving her mom's house. It will be a tough time for awhile in our house. Buffy was her best little friend when I was at work, and even when I was home. She just wanted you guys to know. Best to all. Mr. Daiziedaze.

oh, my gosh, i am so very sorry to hear about your baby dog..i lost my mama wolf 11 years ago, and even though i have her son, i still miss her so much. my thoughts are with you as you grieve buffy. if there is anything i can do, let me know. email if you want to talk on line.

I am so sorry about Buffy. I know exactly the shock and grief you are feeling, as I lost my Cyrus last July. It was so shocking and unexpected, just like Buffy. Please know I'll be praying for you. It will be really tough for a while, but I promise, it will get easier as time goes by. Eventually, it will hurt just a little less each day. It takes a while, though. You just have to go through the bad days and let yourself cry and rage as much as you need to. I'm here if you ever need to talk. Take care of yourself.

I'm so, so very sorry for your loss!! I have lost so many of my " babies" as well... I will keep you all in my prayers. I'm sure Heaven's light is shining a little brighter this evening. I believe animals go to Heaven and sit right beside God as advocates for their human families. Who better to tell God who we are then those who knew us best. They love unconditionally... always, and that is perhaps what charms us and prompts us to invite them into our world. My dog Lady was my sounding board and rock after my oldest daughter died. She just turned 15 years old, I do not know how much more time we will have together, but I am so greatful for her and all of the companions I have known. Every living being is a gift, and we are lucky to share our lives together. I know there really aren't words that will help right now...I'm so sorry...

Awww, Daze, I'm so sorry.

I've not ever lost a furbaby to that particular type of accident, but I know it's one of my biggest fears, it can happen in a nanosecond. She's so cute and I know you miss her terribly. She's at the Rainbow Bridge, happy and playing with all of our beloved fur babies and waiting patiently to be reunited with you. Please know that we are thinking of you, sending you hugs and prayers. If you need to talk, please do, be it on the board or however, we'd all listen and commiserate. Like Jamie said, the devastation eases, eventually it will, have faith. Oh, that's terrible! It is so horrible to lose a pet that way! All you can do is know that you gave them the best home and the best life you could. Buffy was as lucky to have you as you were to have her, although I'm sure that is not what you want to hear right now.

OMG, I am freaking out...I can't believe it!!! Dazie, I am so sorry....it is horrible to lose them, especially like that!!! Here is a poem that helped me...

BTW, there is a website that has a pet loss support group here.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

Hey Dazie,

I'm thinking of you alot. I know how much it hurts. I can't believe it's been 10 months (today) that my Cyrus got hit by a truck. It was the most shocking thing I've ever endured. I was playing outside with him and literally 10 minutes later, he was gone. The Rainbow Bridge poem is beautiful and comforting, but I still can hardly read it without sobbing.

My thoughts are with you and you're in my prayers....

Jamie, I know. I was deeply upset by Dazie's news. I can't stop thinking about it either. It is so traumatic to lose a pet. I lost Pun'kin years ago and I am still not over it. I guess I never will get over it. I try not to think about it...I see that little picture of her beloved doggie on her posts and it kills me! And she is such a good friend to us, it is hard to think of what she is going through (esp. for those of us like you and me, who have had hard pet losses also.)

I know what you mean about the poem, it always makes me cry also! But it did help me when someone shared it with me when I lost Pun'kin.
