Things have gone downhill.... |

I must agree with some others who have commented recently about the changes in the show and writing here lately that has really served to put a negative spin
on the show. I have LOVED GL and been a dedicated viewer for the past 12 years, but you know what? I'm finding that my interest in the show is waning,
because they are destroying the characters that I have grown to know and love, they are writing these despicable storylines that contradict everything that
Springfield has represented, and then the last straw here---this new camera/filming technique has really driven me up the wall. I haven't even bothered to
watch this week, because I didn't want to see this "new" version of Springfield, and I wasn't ready to say goodbye to Gus. It wouldn't
have been so bad for Ricky Paull Goldin to have left if they hadn't completely butchered his character and the storyline before his exit. It's hard now
to say goodbye to a Gus who abandoned his true love for a girlfriend he hadn't seen in a decade and who was beginning to be involved with Olivia. And to
top it all, his heart will save the day for Olivia. How many times have we seen this line of story? I mean really! Gag Gag! I think the pairing of
Josh/Cassie and then Gus's running off with Natalia were the first indications for me that the show was really on a downward slope. But I don;t want it to
be that way. I'm apart of Springfield now. I really don't want the love affair to end. But I don't know how to stop this trend...

I don't think they should have killed him...like others have said there were tons of ways Olivia could have been given a heart. I'd of rathered he just
walked away, took a little "trip" for awhile. There was no need for all of this heart ache.
As for the show ...I see where people are coming from...I'm just gonna see how it all falls together. I've actually been enjoying some of the scenes. Not just Reva/Jeffery, but other characters as well again. Tania in Pennsylvania

GL is the only soap I watch, and I have intense moments of frustration with the show, but I actually think it has gotten better lately. I don't like watching in real time, though, so I always tape. |

GL is also the only soap I watch. I am not ready to give up on this soap. As for the new agenda....sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't. I hate to
see Gus go but this story line has been the most intense story that we have had in a long time and for the first time in a while I am wanting to tune in to see
Olivia's reaction as to having Gus's heart. We are getting new storys and I think we should just sit back....watch and see what happens. I am more
sad to see all the negative remarks on this board then I am about the new look for GL. I also am not a new GL fan....I have been watching for 40 years......I
have seen a lot of things that I have not been happy with or boring story lines etc. I am optomistic that GL will get better as time goes on. It all ready
has improved since they went to their new format. If this doesn't work out......I am hoping that they will go back to the way it was.

Janiegirl ITA with you and I am also not a new viewer. I have been watching GL for over 50 years way back when it was just a 15 minute segment.
There have been good, bad, mediocre shows, but I will continue to watching GL as long as it is being aired!

I have watched for nearly 40 years and will not give up although I am not that inthralled with the new format. My main objection is the picture being so dark
and washed out looking. I don't understand why some days it seems ok and some days way too dark. As for the stories, they have been a bit bland for a
while. They need a good mystery again or something to spice it up. I think stories come and go and sometimes are good and sometimes ridiculous. I hope one
of these days the new format and new stories will come together and make a great show.

Sue, Janie, Nancy & Loretta - ITA. I have been watching GL for over 30 years and I'll watch till they pry the remote from my cold, dead fingers! LOL
I am obviously in the minority here, but I like the new filming - it is much more realistic and not so "canned". As far as the sound, big deal, I
just turn up the volume....... I think the SLs are pretty good and I too am looking forward to O's reaction to getting Gus' heart. I have to say, Gus
has been my absolute favorite for a LONG time and I will sure miss looking at his gorgeous face and hot bod, but, thats life in soapville. JMO

I will continue taping (and ff'ding) until the last episode airs. I have been watching for as long as I can remember; however, I am not at all pleased with
the show these days. I care a lot less about the camera angles, sound, etc than I do good storylines. I just don't think the writing is very good these
days.
I'm glad that there are fans that are willing to hang in there.

The show seems very cyclical. We have to watch a bunch of goofy SLs then there will be a bunch of really good stuff. It really is too bad that they killed Gus
though. He was the only one of Alan's children left. Now he really is alone. Time to bring Phillip and Alan-Michael back. I could stand to see Alan rise
from the ashes (like The Phoenix-Stefano on DAYS). GA coming back as Phillip would really turn the show around. And the last Alan-Michael was ok and he could
come back and go after Ava, leaving Bill to Lizzie. Why don't the writers/TPTB read these boards? The fans are telling them what they want. Why
wouldn't they let what the fans want dictate the stories? We are the ones who watch and go buy Airwick because Doris is the voice of a chameleon and Mel is
pushing Curves cereal, for crying out loud!

I didn't know Doris was the voice of the chameleon, i'll have to listen closer for that.

I LOVE this show almost as much as I love all of you! I am only a day behind now, I am almost completely caught up!
I saw Gus die yesterday and I was sobbing in the living room. Jean-David had to come in to see what was wrong! Sure, sometimes the stories bite, but even when that happens, it is fun to come here and complain about it! So whether it is on an up note or a down note, I still get a lot out of GL. I will never quit watching! At least they are finishing Harley's house! Woo hoo! FINALLY! I know this has probably all been posted about, but I was so behind I was not reading the posts (because I didn't want to get "spoiled.")

I have to say I shed a few tears myself. When the boys were going to make a book of his pictures and their drawings to give to Rafe, I cried.

I have watched the show for a long time and love it. I dont wont it to ever end. I look forward to it every day. I did cry for Gus alot and everyone like they
were part of my family. I just love the show. Life goes up and down so does the show and the poeple on it.
Who know later on they could say that Gus had some secret mission or some weird thing like that and lead every one to beleave he was dead and gave his heart to Olivia but it was all a trick. They do crazy things like that all the time. Gus might say he got a heart for Olivia but wonted her to think it was his so she would have the will to live with him for always. Sorry about going on, I much just have to much time on my hands LOL. |
