I am really enjoying this incarnation of Alan. I love it that he wants to stay at the boarding house and he is enjoying his interaction with everyone. I loved
it today when he was asking Bill to stop by and play poker. 
I wouldn't be surprised if he took him up on it.
I just think that Alan is making a mistake putting off Beth like that. If he really wants to be with her, he should not make her wait like that after she said she wanted to be with him. I think it is a risky gamble! The more time she spends with Rick, the more chances of it backfiring on him (unless Rick continues to be paranoid, and then it will work in his favor!
